Why Schools Need Us
Bridge the Gap is a Derby-based emotional health hub, working alongside schools to support the children and young people who need it most. We know that unmet emotional needs can show up in the classroom as low mood, anxiety, withdrawal or behaviour that’s hard to reach — and that teachers and pastoral staff are often left trying to fill that gap without the time, training or capacity to do so alone.
That’s where we come in. Our practitioners work directly in your school, building trusted relationships with children through 1:1 sessions, small groups and staff consultations, using our BEAM approach to help children notice, name and navigate their emotions in a safe, relational way.
We tailor every partnership to the needs of your school, offering flexible support that ranges from a half-day-a-week presence to a full wraparound offer including staff training, parent engagement and multi-agency working. Whatever the level of need, our goal is the same: to help every child feel seen, supported and ready to learn.
